LookInMyPC is a small, portable and freeware tool designed to generate a very comprehensive report of a system and export it to a HTML page. It will display Running Processes, Installed Devices, Drivers, Services, Startup Programs, Windows Updates, TCP/IP Port Usage, Registry Run Entries, System Restore Information, Event Log detail and much much more. Here is a sample of a report that LookInMyPC produces: http://www.lookinmypc.com/ReportPage1.htm http://www.lookinmypc.com/ReportPage2.htm
I got up this morning and started thinking about the next thing I wanted to add to my PC. Like many of you, I’m into upgrading when I see fit to increase performance, and I think that putting Windows 7 on an SSD might be the way to go. So, like many of you, I decided to look at some of the most recent reviews and see what looked interesting from the price/performance standpoint. So there’s a problem in general with buying an SSD, like any other component. You order it, the big brown truck arrives, you open the box and BAM! Press release announcing a newer, better, version of the drive you just bought. Not shocking, I know, but it makes doing this round-up thing a bit difficult.
One drop. Five minutes in a pocket with your keys. Three months of regular use. This is all it takes for an iPhone's backplate to go from a mirror-like shine to a scratched-to-hell eyesore. Here's how to fix it.MacRumors forum member Shenaniganz08 salvaged an iPhone 3G from eBay, sanding, buffing and polishing it back from the brink of a life in a case, which would be dumb, because cases are dumb. (I mean, not really, but that's kind of the premise of this whole process, right? Anyway.) Here's what you need:

You should be aware of the problems that may occur when you go from an HDMI to VGA cable.
I just got an 80 gig Zune for my birthday, today, and tried to install the software. I can download it and all, but when I try to get the installer running it says that I need to update my computer to get it working. Unfortunately for me, my computer crashed and I had to install it's hard drive from an older disk. Because of this, I have absolutely no way to get the updates working. They will install, but just sit there and do nothing. And thus, I ask, is there any way to install, or make the program work on my computer? - I am running on Windows XP right now... Just not the updated version. - and if that's not possible, is there anyway to get music and stuff onto my Zune with out the software?
Sophos has posted an article about a free fake antivirus that uses VirusTotal’s reputation to lure its victims. VirusTotal is a free virus and malware online scan service. The message is included in the article. It says that the user’s computer has virus activities. It threatens the user that if he or she does not scan his or her computer for viruses, he or she will be reported to his or her internet service provider. A link is included in the message which directs the user to site which is supposedly a legitimate free spyware removal online service.

Windows only: Portable utility Mute on Lock turns off your system speakers whenever you walk away and lock your workstation, but it also provides a quick shortcut key for toggling your speakers on or off.Once you've downloaded and launched the no-installation-required utility, your speakers will turn off immediately after pressing the Win+L shortcut key to lock your workstation, and then turn back on once you've unlocked your PC. If you head into the settings page, you can set up a custom shortcut key to mute or unmute the sound, or customize what the tray icon does. Definitely a handy utility for those of us that lock our workstations religiously, and it doesn't take up a lot of resources either.
