ANSWER: First you might want to turn off the Auto-update feature in Windows. Start by Right Clicking on "My Computer" then select "Properties", Click the "Automatic Updates" tab, and select the "Turn off Automatic Updates" radio button.
THEN i'd be sure to run an anti spyware application to make sure you're not sending usage data to the spyware companies. Use spybot search and destroy (google it) and clean off your system.
