How To Record Instruments On A Home Mac Laptop?
Categories: Macs
Written By: admin
Hi, I’ve been doing research on how to record my own music on my new mac laptop but I’m a bit confused. Now I was wondering, can I plug my microphone, in this case the M-Audio Solaris, directly into my computer and then just start recording? I’ve read a few things about “phantom power” and that my computer won’t be able to power up the mic for recording? Help, I’m very confused!

You can’t directly plug a microphone into a computer. You need to get an audio/MIDI interface.http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Fa…
My husband has the interface that I posted above. I think he got it for around $100. It’s nice and compact and easy to work with. You plug the microphone jack into the interface, then connect the interface to your mac with a USB.
