Categories: Applications

So, my CD drive won’t work anymore- it cannot read or even tell there’s a CD in the slot anymore after the computer crashed…
I can still install and download things off the internet, but me worse concern is that i cannot load simple and necessary things like Mircosoft Word or Excel. I still have all my old files, but none of the programs work, since i can’t “install” them. I use Windows vista and am need of serious help! IF you’ve soem computer know-how, I’d apprieciate the help so much!

go to control panel -system-hardware then device manager click on the DVD /Cdrom drivers
Right click on your CD drive and go to properties and see if it is working OK.
If not you will need to up date your driver by right clicking on the CD drive and choose update driver, if you don’t have the driver on a floppy, you will need to down load it from driversguide.com got to the site and type in a search for you CD ROM IE: lite on or LG what ever the brand is.
Once you have the driver loaded to your computer go back to up date your driver again.
