What Is The Best Way To Re-install Windows If You Keep Getting A Blue Screen Of Death Everytime You Try?

Ok here is the deal my computer crashed so i tried to delete the hard drive and it didnt work i dont know if im doing it wrong or what.and then i desided i would get a new hard drive so i did this and installed it and now it will not let me install windows, it goes threw the steps and when it says setup is starting windows i get a blue screen of death.Please help

To Re-install Windows-xp into your DELL hard drive you need to first turn off your computer. Then turn it back on, start tapping F8 then re-install Windows normally. If this does not work turn your computer off, then start to tap F12 go to IDE drivediagnostics. This will check to see if it passes if it does reinstall windows normally. If nether works install ‘Operating system disk’ Press F12 when it propts you press the space bar. Then enter: C:>chkdsk /r Then it will re-install Windows this may take up to 40 minutes. When it reaches 100% type in: enter

Hi,
Sounds like you are installing on top of your old windows installation.
The best way, is to delete the partition completely, and reinstall windows from scratch. (please note ALL FILES on the partition will be gone and non-recoverable once you do this, so please back up any files you need to keep).
To do this:
When the Windows XP CD Boots onto the installation, it will walk you through the steps; when is says an existing windows has been detected, press ESC.
It will then take you to see the partitions.
highlight the C: (system) partition, and press D. confirm delete.
Once confirmed, what was once C System, becomes “unpartitioned space”.
highlight it again, and press C (create partition).
The size will be there automatically, confirm create.
Highlight the newly created partition, and press Enter and then give it a quick NTFS format (and obviously continue to install windows).
That should do the trick.
