I just got the sims 3 today and it said I needed netframework so I installed that and then I tried playing the sims 3 and it said to install the windows installer 3.1. Will my computer fail silently? I really wanna play the sims 3!

The most likely cause is a bloated registry which has become the home for all kinds of useless bits and pieces of data. Why would it fail?? Assuming its a legal copy of the game I would just trust it.
