Visual Studio 2005 Crashes During Install – Any Fixes Or Suggestions?
Categories: Applications
Written By: admin
I get past the product key and about 2 minutes later I get the blue screen of death. I can’t even see what it says. It blips and starts a reboot. I need this for school and had the express version of VB installed prior to reformatting HD but now both the express and professional versions do not install.

You want to disable auto-reboot on crash.
1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and Recovery dialog box.
4. Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK the necessary number of times.
5. Restart your computer for the settings to take effect.
This will let you get the BSOD (blue screen of death) error message that will lead to solving your problem.
Hope this helps,
Ken

Have you tried Sharp Develop or is it Visual Basic you need? If you’re in need of C# SharpDevelop does pretty good. Otherwise I’ve never seen this before. Have you fixed it yet?
Just for the heck of it, try install Visual Studio C# …..even if you don’t need it….just to see if it works.
Also, have you tried a FULL uninstall?
